Alexander Bobkin (born 17 May 1952 in Novokuznetsk, Siberia) graduated from the Yaroslavl Art Academy in 1972, specialising in graphic art. He joined the Artists' Union of the USSR in 1976 and in 1986 received the 'Premieje Molodost Koezbas' distinction.
After obtaining a visa for a London exhibition, he made a stopover in the Netherlands that became a permanent stay. Delta Art Gallery in Nijmegen organised his first Dutch exhibition in 1991.
His works combine oil paint with chalk, charcoal and pencil on canvas and paper. He creates imaginary worlds with dream scenes, mythological figures and animals. His gallery collection dates from around 1989 to 1999.
