Alexander Johnson

Alexander Johnson (born 1963 in Chichester, West Sussex) is a British painter and graphic artist. He completed a foundation course at the West Sussex College of Design and earned a Bachelor of Fine Art at South Glamorgan IHE in Cardiff (1982-1985).

For much of his adult life he lived in cities such as London, Barcelona, Nijmegen and Brighton. His semi-abstract work often begins with the telling of a story, in which he enlarges and reworks details from old photographs, models and historical artworks until they shift towards abstraction.
